optimism vs realism
1:09 AM
there's a fine line between being optimistic and being unrealistic..
dont cross that line. :D

I THOUGHT 'A' LEVEL RESULTS ARE GOING TO BE RELEASED THIS FRIDAY.
NOW I HAVE NO OFF-DAY FOR THE WEEK.
HAHA.
so much for positively assuming that it's this fri and telling all my customers that it's this fri -_-
(and getting all the well-wishes before the actual week of release.)
---------------------
some things and some people are important to me.i dont wanna lose these things.and i dont wanna lose these people especially.
of fools.. and..
1:46 AM
only fools focus on intangibles;
the promises and the trust
only fools believe in things they can't see or hear or feel.
those who are smart (or some say mecenary) focus on the tangibles;
the money, the material goods
these things will stay. (as long as you dont spend the money or the value doesnt get too badly eroded by inflation)
these things wont hurt you.
these things wont empty your soul out... or do they?
or at least, not as badly as the intangibles.
the intangibles.. are scary.
trust and promises.. fade away.
or maybe, they were never there in the first place.
only fools have faith..
as faith is something that you cant see or hear or feel.
yet, without faith, you perish.
so sometimes, i still am, a fool.
and i still want to be a fool.
but does it go downhill from here?
-----------------
goodbye is always the hardest word to say.
bye shan, i will miss you so so much. one less true friend by my side.
------------------
i'm too open a book.
so open my spine hurts.
ive gotta learn to put a bookmark and close the book when im required to.
but people who think it's gonna miraculously happen overnight, it wont.
right now, im just gonna have to
'fake it till i have it.'
trying and failing
2:04 AM
there are times whereby no matter how hard you try..
you can never succeed.
but of course, the above case is when the situation only involves variables you cant control.
for anything else.. it's always worth a shot.

have already forgotten what it feels like ;
or have i?
NEW YEAR HAHA
11:52 PM
quick update before CNY eve!!
work has been great so far.. kinda picking up momentum. wonder if it's just luck.
today adrian told us a story about Bill Zankar, the CEO of The Learning Annex. his hero is none other than the successful Donald Trump. So about maybe 6 years ago Bill wanted to invite his hero to give a seminar. So he gave Trump's office a call and spoke to his secretary. His offer was $10,000 for Trump to give a 1 hr talk. The secretary scoffed at this measley amount and hung up. Bill tried again, offering $25,000 this time. He was again rejected. So he mustered up all his courage and called a 3rd time with a offer of $100,000 (His company profit was only abt 400-500K per year!). He was again rejected.
So after 3 rejects, Bill was very hurt. He decided to go all the way and propose $1,000,000. Finally, the secretary said that she would inform Trump. Minutes later, Trump called Bill to ask how many people would be at the seminar. Bill knew his venue could only accomodate 600-700 people so he said "1000" to make it sound better. Trump said he would not agree to make an appearance if the number was less than 10,000 people. Bill was flustered, but he said that he would make it happen anyway. He gave it his all to make the seminar happen.
So in the end how many people turned up?
did Bill succeed?
Yes.
There were 31,500 people.
Bill had no problem paying Trump the million dollars in the end because of the huuuuge turnout. Trump knew all along that Bill could accomplish the task. He taught Bill how to think big, and not to be restricted by your current or past circumstances. If Bill was always used to holding seminars for 600-700 people and was restricted by the size of the venue, he could never have made this event happen.
Now Bill Zanker's company is growing by 400% each year, earning more than 100million per annum.
Yup, so this teaches us to think BIG in order to succeed! :D
